While incarcerated, Miss Kim, as she is affectionately known, became passionate about the plight of women she saw recidivate over and over due to the lack of adequate transitional housing, without which women often resort to unhealthy relationships and activities. She designed Genesis Support and Transitional Services to meet some of those challenges. Kim Brown holds an Associate’s Degree in Sociology, a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology, and a Master’s Degree in Professional Studies. She’s also a certified paralegal, a conflict resolution specialist, and an ordained minister.
